We have an update!

We were just waiting in line for the press - so no word the last few weeks - but now I have news! Books are printed - and we are just waiting for the gilding on the page edges (which is labor intensive and takes longer to dry) - so another week and they should be shipping to our fulfillment house- and from there - to you! We'll let you know when they're in transit!

Not too much to report - but the good news is we are on schedule to print end of the month or first weeks of June - I will updated when it's actually printing and try to get some photos/video from the printer of the book in-process! Stay tuned...and thanks again for your patience!

A Corrected Digital Download!

I just uploaded a new .cbr file - let me know if it doesn't work correctly for some reason (I think I figured it out by now) - but it's been a while and if don't do something once a week - I tend to forget how to do it.
This new file has added some missing dialogue and a typo on a later page. I can't thank you all enough for pointing those out! There's nothing worse than getting a box of newly printed books and flipping it open and finding a typo immediately. It's happened to me a couple times over the course of my career. Anyway - that's what 2nd printings are for...but thanks to all of you - we caught it early this time!
Also - I woke up in a cold sweat last week - not having heard from the printer in a month - but I have already paid the printer - so reached out to confirm we are still in-line for our time on press - and we are. From the printer:
"You are indeed in our system for a print date of early June, in order to ship by June 29th."
So later than any of us anticipated but...it is happening!
It will ship from their to our distribution partner and from there ship out wide to everyone!
RETAILERS! If you are a retailer and were overcharged for shipping - or waiting to pay for shipping - I will be personally handling those - figuring out exact shipping costs and either reimbursing or sending you exact costs (when I have books in hand and ready to ship).

Nothing new to report! Thanks for the heads-up on the typo and missing text in the pool scene - that will be fixed for the print edition! And no news is good news from the printer - still on track to print in May/June.
If you are a retailer and were over-charged for shipping - we are working on a fix for that as well. If we haven't reached out to you - send me a message and I will get it fixed!

Printing update and TWO BONUS downloads!

Happy belated holidays! Hope everyone had a good and safe and healthy one.
The studio took a few weeks off to re-charge batteries and prep for a big new year.
A few new things to update:
We’re locking orders now - so credit cards on file will start to be charged - it will show up as Matt Kindt LLC or Matt Kindt, Inc.
If you’re a retailer - I’ll be in touch with you directly (closer to April/May) when it comes time to ship your order - and we will figure out the cheapest best shipping method. I’m keeping a list of retailers bulk orders so I can make sure shipping cost is accurate. They will ship at the same time as all other backers - as soon as I get books in hand.
The final print files are locked and to the printer - the paper has been ordered and the first half of the printing bill has been pre-paid - but a bit of disappointing news on the printer side of things. Our print date has been pushed back to May/June - so we will be shipping hopefully in late spring. The printer is citing “worker shortages and supply chain issues.” A common thing at this point - hitting a bunch of board games I backed this year as well. I tapped every resource I had to find another printer - but across the board - all printers are having the same issues so to source our printing elsewhere would put us even further behind and further down the list of jobs getting printed.
In GOOD news! We uploaded TWO BONUS FILE as a thank you for your patience and understanding. David put together a couple big files with inked black & white version and his working layouts (!) so we can all get a glimpse into his process!
Thanks so much! I’ll post updates when I have them…but for now our hands are tied - just waiting for our turn on press. In the meantime - here are a couple images from the new bonus files everyone is getting (see below). You should be getting a link or email from backerkit.com with instructions on how to download two new bonus files! One for Cosmic Detective Layouts - and one for Cosmic Detective Inks.
