Last days to back my new graphic novel with Lewis LaRosa! MEGALITH!
11 months ago – Tue, May 30, 2023 at 07:04:58 PM

Just a quick reminder - if you haven't seen it yet or you were waiting until the last day or two to back it - the new graphic novel I wrote for Lewis LaRosa is still available to back for only 2 more days! Just go to the link here:

There are a lot of crazy tiers and I wrote a handful of extra companion stories that will go along with the main graphic novel. If you haven't see Lewis's art on this yet - you are in for a treat. Lewis is hands-down a modern visual genius. And that's kind of an understatement.

Thanks for the support!

Art by the amazing Lewis LaRosa...

Matt Kindt and Lewis LaRosa have a new book!
12 months ago – Tue, May 09, 2023 at 09:24:13 PM

It's been a while! Hope you all are well.

Five years ago I began writing an epic sci-fi comic about an alien "something" that lands in Baltimore...is nearly 1 mile tall...and a team of specialists enter at its "foot" and have to climb/survive their way to the top to find out what/who this thing is...

I wrote it and the amazing artist Lewis LaRosa has been drawing for five years and it is FINALLY going to be available. It's being published by Bad Idea and you can back it here:

Megalith Kickstarter is Live Now!

Here's more details and art below...

In 2018, I partnered with the legendary Lewis LaRosa (SAVAGE) to create a comic book unlike any before it. A comic made without the pressures of time or money. We spent a mammoth five-years in production, sparing no expense to create this once-in-a-lifetime comic book -- MEGALITH.

Joining us is the AMAZING Laura Martin (CIVIL WAR), this year’s Ringo Award winner for Best Letterer, Taylor Esposito (BATMAN) and a who's who of comics greatest artists from Joe Quesada (WOLVERINE) to Leinil Francis Yu (X-MEN) and James Harren (ULTRAMEGA) to Mico Suayan (JOKER/HARLEY), who have come to help celebrate!

I'm sharing some of the finished pages but even these don't do this massive project justice. There is a 2-page spread that you literally have to turn vertical to get the full effect - it is so BIG. The way Lewis bends and warps the perspective and uses panel layouts - I really haven't read anything like this before.

FULFILLMENT NEARLY FINISHED!
over 1 year ago – Fri, Sep 09, 2022 at 11:30:11 AM

Most of you should have gotten your books/cards, etc. by now - if not - they are in transit! I'm working with our fulfillment center to make sure those of you that have a missing item, etc., are getting those as well - some might be stuck in customs - but be patient - I had to fill out some extra forms - so those should be going finally working their way through as well...

If you backed at the ORIGINAL ART level - I will be sending out an email shortly so you can choose your piece and confirm your shipping address one more time - just to be safe! Look for it in the next day or two.

Thanks again - was quite a journey and we couldn't have done it without your help! Literally - this book wouldn't exist if you hadn't taken a chance on us. Hope you like the book! I know we all poured our hearts into it.

BOOKS ARE SHIPPING NOW!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Aug 24, 2022 at 01:50:59 AM

Many people have already gotten their books! Our fulfillment house is shipping daily - so you all should be getting them soon if not already! If you haven't received it - check backerkit.com - and make sure your credit card was run and your address is current. Those will be the only delays at this point. Thanks to everyone for your support! This book would literally not exist without your help!

Printing finished!
over 1 year ago – Fri, Jul 29, 2022 at 12:39:36 AM

Printing is done - gilding on the page edges was not just expensive (and most of the reason we did this via Kickstarter - most publishers in their right minds wouldn't do it - trust me - I ask every time and it never gets through budgeting) - but totally worth it.

That's the good news - and the delay news is this - direct from printer:

"...the motor of our case binding equipment broke this morning and we’ll be losing 5 days in our case binding production."

But the good news is that was 7 days ago (happened while I was at San Diego Comic Con) - so back on track - books should be shipping to our fulfillment center any day now and the extras will ship to me so I can post more photos when I get them in hand.

Thanks for your patience and support!
